Role Overview:
SOMOS.tech is looking for a proactive and organized Community Program Manager to help design, coordinate, and manage local initiatives for our San Francisco chapter. This volunteer role is ideal for someone who thrives on building community through thoughtful programming and logistics. You’ll play a key role in creating inclusive, high-impact events and resources that strengthen our Hispanic and Latinx tech network in the Bay Area.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate, and manage community events (e.g., meetups, workshops, panels) that align with SOMOS.tech’s mission.
Collaborate with the Chapter Lead and Co-Lead to develop a calendar of impactful programs.
Oversee event logistics, including securing venues, coordinating speakers, managing registrations, and post-event follow-ups.
Track and manage event budgets, supplies, and promotional materials.
Collect feedback and analyze impact to continuously improve programming.
Support outreach to local organizations, sponsors, and partners for event collaboration and promotion.
Ensure events are inclusive, accessible, and culturally resonant for the local community.
Qualifications:
Experience in program or event management, especially in community, nonprofit, or tech-related settings.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Clear, effective communicator who enjoys collaboration and creative problem-solving.
Passionate about building diverse, inclusive spaces in tech.
Based in or regularly available in the San Francisco Bay Area for in-person events.

Note: All volunteer roles are required to attend a bi-weekly 30 min scrum meeting online. Each volunteer role is committed to 1.5-4 hours a month.
