Role Overview:
SOMOS.tech is looking for a passionate, mission-driven leader to serve as the Chapter Lead for San Francisco. In this volunteer role, you’ll take the lead in cultivating a vibrant, inclusive tech-for-good community in the Bay Area. You’ll drive initiatives that embody SOMOS.tech’s core values, making a meaningful impact at the local level. This opportunity is perfect for someone energized by community-building and passionate about tech as a tool for empowerment and equity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead local outreach, engagement, and community-building efforts across San Francisco.

• Develop and manage the local budget to support events and programming.

• Serve as the main liaison between the San Francisco chapter and SOMOS.tech’s global team.

• Cultivate partnerships with local organizations, volunteers, and community stakeholders.

• Plan and execute impactful local events aligned with SOMOS.tech’s mission.

• Recruit, manage, and support a local team of volunteers and ambassadors.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated leadership experience, especially in tech, nonprofit, or community organizing spaces.

• Strong project management and budgeting skills.

• Excellent communicator, confident in public speaking and networking.

• Deep commitment to equity, inclusion, and the transformative power of technology.

• Based in or consistently available in the San Francisco Bay Area for in-person activities.
