Roles and Responsibilities of the Marketing Director at SOMOS.tech


Position Title: Marketing Director

Time Commitment: 1-2 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Marketing Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy that aligns with the organization's mission and goals. This includes identifying key marketing channels, target audiences, and messages to effectively promote SOMOS.tech’s initiatives.

  2. Brand Management: Uphold and enhance the organization's brand identity. Ensure consistency in messaging and visual branding across all communication channels.

  3. Content Creation and Management: Oversee the creation of engaging and relevant content for the organization’s website, social media platforms, and marketing materials. This includes writing, editing, and coordinating the production of digital and print content.

  4. Social Media Oversight: Direct the organization's social media strategy to increase visibility and engagement. Monitor social media trends and adapt strategies accordingly.

  5. Community Outreach and Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with community members, stakeholders, and potential donors. Represent SOMOS.tech at community events and meetings as needed.

  6. Analytics and Reporting: Regularly analyze marketing efforts for effectiveness. Use data and metrics to inform future marketing strategies and report on successes and areas for improvement.

  7. Volunteer Coordination: Recruit, train, and manage volunteers involved in marketing and promotional activities. Ensure effective communication and coordination among team members.

  8. Budget Management: Oversee the marketing budget, ensuring effective use of resources and alignment with the organization’s financial constraints.

  9. Collaboration with Other Departments: Work closely with other departments to ensure cohesive and coordinated efforts across the organization.

  10. Professional Development: Stay informed about marketing trends, nonprofit sector developments, and best practices through continuous learning and professional development.

  • Proven experience in marketing, particularly within the nonprofit sector

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms
