About the Role

Position Title: General Volunteer

Location: Various locations as needed for events and activities organized by

Time Commitment: 2-4 hours per week, with flexibility required depending on the events and activities scheduled.

Reports To: Volunteer Coordinator or Event Manager, depending on the specific event or activity.


The General Volunteer at plays a vital role in supporting the organization's mission to foster technology education and digital literacy. Volunteers assist in various capacities, ensuring the smooth execution of events, workshops, and community outreach programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Event Support:Assist in setting up and breaking down event spaces, including arranging furniture, setting up technology, and preparing materials.
    Provide logistical support during events, such as registration assistance, guiding attendees, and distributing information or materials.

  • Community Engagement:Act as an ambassador for, promoting the organization's mission and values to the community.
    Engage with event attendees, answering questions and providing information about's programs and opportunities.

  • Workshop Assistance:Support instructors and facilitators during workshops by managing technical equipment, assisting participants with questions, and ensuring the session runs smoothly.

  • Administrative Support:Assist with administrative tasks as needed, such as data entry, preparing mailings, and organizing digital files.
    Help maintain a clean and organized environment at facilities and events.

  • Feedback and Improvement:Provide feedback on events and activities to help improve future planning and execution.
    Participate in volunteer meetings and training sessions to stay informed about organizational updates and to enhance volunteer skills.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team and adapt to varying tasks.

  • Basic technical proficiency and willingness to learn new technologies.

  • Enthusiasm for technology and education.

  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to the volunteer schedule.

Training and Support:

  • Volunteers will receive an orientation to, including an overview of the organization's mission, values, and upcoming events.

  • Specific training for tasks or roles will be provided as needed for events or activities.

  • Ongoing support and guidance will be available from the Volunteer Coordinator or Event Manager.


  • Gain valuable experience in event management, community outreach, and the tech education sector.

  • Build relationships with professionals in the tech industry and like-minded volunteers.

  • Contribute to a cause that promotes technology education and digital literacy in the community.

  • Receive letters of recommendation or volunteer service confirmation for future employment or educational opportunities, upon request.
